S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM

S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM are designed to serve as fair, impartial and transparent measures of the performance of the global infrastructure industry. They embody certain characteristics that distinguish them from other indexes that attempt to cover the same industry.

Key defining factors include:

Global. The S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM embrace companies engaged in the construction, development and maintenance of infrastructure from around the world, while sub-indexes differentiate between emerging and developed markets. As a result, the indexes reflect the different factors driving the ongoing development of the industry, including important development initiatives in key emerging markets.

Builders Only.  S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM are designed to capture the collective performance of companies engaged in the construction, development and maintenance of infrastructure only and exclude companies that manage or operate infrastructure on an ongoing basis, such as public utilities.  The indexes include companies engaged in the following sectors:  a) Construction and Engineering, b) Construction Machinery, c) Construction Materials, d) Diversified Metals & Mining, f) Heavy Electrical Equipment, g) Industrial Machinery, and h) Steel.

Inclusive. S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM strive to include all companies over a certain size that are significant participants in the global infrastructure industry.

Pure Play. S-Network Infrastructure Builders IndexesSM include only those companies that are principally engaged in the global infrastructure industry. To be included in the index, a company must generate at least 50% of its revenues from its participation in the infrastructure sector.  Companies primarily engaged in home building are excluded.

Little discretion is exercised in compiling the Index and a pre-defined screening protocol assures a consistent, transparent and arms-length compilation process.
